3 Key Trends for 2023 and the Evolution of Programming

This year we will continue to see changes in the technology industry.

Technology plays an important role in how employees and businesses can operate better, smarter, more efficient, and more productive.

There are three main areas where we will see a change in technology. These include the evolution and increased use of low-code/no-code tools, changes in the world of programming, and the increasing role of generative AI.

Low-code and no-code tools can be useful in enabling customer success teams to build the right tools without having to be full-time software developers, but they can also cause problems within an organization.

This year is likely to focus on software that cuts costs, makes teams more efficient, and eliminates excess. In these, low-code and no-code tools can be beneficial. They allow less experienced developers and employees to get started faster. Part of that has to do with replacing teams with APIs. Like low-code and automation tools, APIs enable cost optimization and inherently remove complexity from the system.

In the coming years, we will see programming change in many ways. Technology, including tools like GitHub Copilot, which recently released new programming, has had a huge impact on the way developers work. For one, it can help with administrative work that many developers don't find interesting and don't want to spend time on.

Generative AI will disappear

Generative AI has expanded in the last year with tools like DALL-E and ChatGPT. While there has been enthusiasm in the broader industry for these tools, it is likely that some of them will be out of print, while others will change.

Generative AI tools dedicated to generating images have the highest potential for burnout. People lose interest in tools like these because, while interesting at first, they don't move the needle forward in a way that is useful to the industry.

However, with the release of ChatGPT, the world of generative AI has changed tremendously. Towards the end of last year, all industries, and people who had never been familiar with generative AI before, were able to try the tool. It became much more accessible to people outside of the world of technology.

As long as these tools follow the guidelines and are transparent about where they get their information, they will continue to thrive.

The pandemic boosted the technology industry in 2020, which was beneficial in many ways. With a recession in mind, many companies are in the process of reassessing their budgets and how they allocate resources to technology.

The theme in 2023 will be cost reduction, and companies will look to tools that help save employee time and money while enabling business agility and advancement.
